This animated fable reflects real events of the 1980s, telling the story of U.S. harmful intervention in Nicaragua. Using the tradition of animal fables to reveal a truth, the crab symbolizes U.S. support for the Contras, a right-wing rebel group that tried to violently overthrow the Sandinista government. Only when the octopuses enter, international pressure and protests, is the crab diminished.
